Grandson of Lucius. Yes, the scottish catboy.
Lucius was separated from Cathal's grandmother in the early 90s, when grunge suddenly became popular. This killed interest in The Offenders; Lucius' glam metal band. As a result, he was unable to get back to his (unknowingly pregnant) girlfriend at the time, who had returned to England. Or call her. Or send a letter. As a result, she decided he'd abandoned her, and proceeded to birth and raise their daughter on her own.
Said daughter ended up running off with a musican and getting pregnant before he left her, in a stunning twist of fate. This is how Cathal came to be.
Cathal himself grew up in Croydon, in greater London, in a tower block. As a result, he has very little experience of nature, or of other cultures. He never really believed in trees until he was eight, and has never met a horse. His experience of wildlife is throwing rocks at pigeons, and conning tourists into buying bird seed so they get mobbed by pigeons.
On the upside, he's VERY good at navigating in buildings and urban areas, and can read public transport maps better than he reads English. He can also hide weapons quickly and easily, even surprisingly large ones, and produce them seemingly at will.
As he grew up, he was regaled with tales of his missing grandfather, and vowed to find him. After finishing school, he set off for Japan, cheated his way through a Mario Kart visa, and his story began.
Age: 18, if you check his various fake IDs.
Actual age: 16.
Powers: Telekinesis, city navigation.
Languages spoken: Bad English, Cockney Rhyming Slang.
Weapons: Many, varied, and mostly improvised. Having grown up in a council-owned tower block, he often has a few small knives concealed on his person, along with various other improvised weapons.
Technical skills: Electronics, cheating at videogames, sneaking into places for free, sleight-of-hand thievery, conning tourists, and improvising weapons from available materials.
Height: 5'6" (He's still growing, give him a break.)
Build: Skinny, bordering on malnourished.
Appearance: Like Lucius, only not a catboy.
Whisp: Accompanied her to a Babymetal concert once, now in her class.
Saeko: Saw her naked once, and peeked on her while trapped in the Manor. That counts as a 'relationship', right?
Arella: Arella-sensei is his favourite teacher!
Shiori: Shiori-sensei is a close second.
Lucius: His long-lost grandfather, and the man he's in Tokyo to find. Slightly wary of him, since he's insane enough to carry a BFS around regularly, but wants to get to know him.
DarkTan: A guy who keeps leaving his ID cards around where they can be pocketed.
Navigation in urban areas, and complex public transport systems.
Climbing buildings - He climbs like a monkey, only with buildings instead of trees.
Electronic hackery - Fixing and altering the function of electrical things, often while they're still switched on.
Plumbing - Again, often with everyhing still switched on. He can swap a U-bend in seconds flat.
'Cookery' - If it comes ready-prepared in a packet, he knows exactly how long to microwave it for. Actual ingredients are beyond him.
Motorcycling - Almost as reckless as Lucius, but he's not as invulnerable. Just dumb, because he's a teenager.
He's a teenage boy. Hormone-driven, confused, and tendency for aggression. He's also somewhat in culture shock; Japan is a strange place, and he barely reads English, let alone Japanese.
Bad English - English loaded with slang, an accent nobody outside of where he grew up can understand, and a tendency to punctuate with shortened words.
English - He understands it, but refuses to speak it because teenager.
Japanese. At least, not yet.
As Lucius', only much lower level and not fully manifested yet.
